Flood waters close roads in Van Buren and Lee counties

FAIRFIELD, Iowa – Sept. 13, 2008 – The Iowa Department of Transportation has closed the following state highways due to flooding.   

Road closures or traffic restrictions include:

  • All roads leading in and out of Lacey State Park are closed; however, Iowa 1 and Van Buren County Road J-40 are open.

  • Iowa 16 is closed from U.S. 218/Iowa 27 in Lee County to Van Buren County
    Road W-40. 

The roads will reopen once the water recedes, inspections are completed and any repairs due to flood damage are completed.

The Iowa DOT will provide additional information about the closures as soon as it is available.
