Southbound U.S. 218 lanes reduced for debris removal today

FAIRFIELD, Iowa – Oct. 30, 2008 – Debris removal at the Skunk River bridge on U.S. 218 will restrict southbound traffic to one lane today, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 5 maintenance office.

Debris will be removed from the bridge area five miles south of the U.S. 218 interchange with U.S. 34 in Henry County. The work is expected to be completed by late afternoon today.

Travelers are urged to use caution when coming into the work zone.
