Overhead sign replacement work causes temporary lane closure on Mississippi River bridge

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Nov. 25, 2008 – The Iowa Department of Transportation urges motorists to use extra caution on Interstate 80 westbound at the Illinois state line while workers replace an overhead sign on the Mississippi River bridge. The left lane will be closed during the sign replacement.

The work is expected to be completed by 10:30 a.m. today.

Motorists should use caution in the work zone, as workers will be present. Obey all posted signs. Allow ample space between vehicles, minimize distractions and always wear your seat belt.
