Sign installation will cause travel restrictions on I-80 in Coralville beginning March 18
DAVENPORT, Iowa – March 12, 2009 – Travelers on Interstate 80 at the Iowa 965 interchange (exit 240) in Coralville can expect travel delays beginning Wednesday, March 18, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Davenport construction office.
Workers installing a dynamic message sign at a location between the Coral Ridge Avenue exit and First Avenue exit will close one travel lane at all times and will fully close I-80 intermittently for up to 20-minute intervals in the overnight hours. The overnight closures will take place starting at 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights until March 25, weather permitting. The open travel lane is restricted to a 12-foot width limit.
The Iowa DOT asks motorists to drive with caution and obey posted signs in the work area. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, obey posted speed limits, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
