Lane restrictions on I-29 in Harrison and Monona counties starting Monday

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – July 10, 2009 – Traffic will be restricted to a single 15-foot, 6-inch lane in both directions on Interstate 29 from south of Little Sioux, in Harrison County, north to north of Onawa, in Monona County, for paving beginning Monday, July 13, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) District 3 Office in Sioux City.

Traffic will be head-to-head in the southbound lanes from milepost 107 just north of Monona County Road E-60 to milepost 113 just north of the Iowa 175 interchange. Work on this paving project is expected to be completed by the end of December 2009.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
