Lane restrictions on Iowa 93 in Sumner starting Friday

NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – July 9, 2009 – Bridge deck repair work will cause lane restrictions on Iowa 93 in Sumner starting at 7 a.m. Friday, July 10, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) New Hampton construction office.

To accommodate this work, traffic will be restricted to a single lane until 6 p.m. Friday, July 17, weather permitting. Traffic will be assisted through the work area by signs and arrow boards.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations can more than double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
