Lane restrictions set for July 22 on Iowa 92 in Adair County
CRESTON, Iowa – July 10, 2009 – Road construction will cause intermittent lane closures on Iowa 92 in the city of Greenfield beginning Wednesday, July 22, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation's (DOT) Creston construction office.
The project involves removing and replacing the outside six feet of the existing asphalt surface near the curb and gutter. While crews are working, the roadway may be reduced to one lane at times. The work area is located from west of Fifth Street NW to Fifth Street NE. During the lane closures, traffic will be assisted through the work area by flaggers and a pilot car.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations can more than double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
