Lane restrictions set to begin next week on Iowa 92 in Columbus Junction
MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa – July 1, 2009 – A construction project to repair a bridge approach on Iowa 92 in Columbus Junction is expected to begin Tuesday, July 7, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation's (DOT) Mount Pleasant construction office.
The bridge approach project will repair the roadway on each end of the bridge and will cause one lane to be closed on Iowa 92 through August, weather permitting. Traffic in the area will be assisted by a temporary traffic signal on the open lane.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations can more than double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
