Road work to restrict lanes on Iowa 76 between McGregor and Marquette

NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – July 2, 2009 – Milling and asphalt resurfacing on Iowa 76 will reduce the roadway to one lane from McGregor one mile north to Marquette beginning Monday, July 6, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) New Hampton construction office.

Flaggers and a pilot car will assist motorists through the work area when the contractor is working on the road. The project is expected to be completed Monday, July 13, weather and schedules permitting.

 

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations can more than double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
