Traffic restrictions start next week on U.S. 20 in Woodbury County
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – July 1, 2009 – Pavement patching is expected to cause traffic restrictions on U.S. 20 in Woodbury County beginning July 7, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation's (DOT) Sioux City construction office.
The concrete patching is set to take place from Lawton to the end of the four-lane roadway east of Moville. One lane will remain open in each direction. The open lane will have a 16.5-foot lane width restriction in place. The project is expected to restrict lanes in the area through the end of August.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations can more than double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
