Iowa Transportation Commission approves grant for Cass County

AMES, Iowa – Aug. 11, 2009 - The Iowa Transportation Commission today approved a Revitalize Iowa's Sound Economy (RISE) Local Development grant submitted by Cass County.

Up to $294,456 will be made available to assist with the construction of approximately 3,168 feet of Glacier Road to Buck Creek Road in the Cass/Atlantic Industrial Park.  Funding for the grant comes from the county share of the RISE fund. The improvement will provide access to 41 acres of RISE-eligible development.

Funds for this RISE award come from the $10 million of unobligated RISE funding that was identified in Governor Culver's I-JOBS initiative as funding available for projects to promote economic development in the state.
