Iowa Transportation Commission to hold public input meeting

AMES, Iowa – Sept. 15, 2009 – The Iowa Transportation Commission will meet in Bettendorf Tuesday, Oct. 13, to discuss transportation matters with representatives of local government, interest groups and individuals. Items that may be discussed at the meeting include the State Transportation Improvement Program; transportation policies; and highway, aviation, rail, river, and transit issues. The brief business meeting will begin at 8 a.m. with the public input meeting to follow.

The meeting will be held at the Isle Casino Hotel, 1850 Isle Parkway, Bettendorf. Please include the time period you prefer and general topic you wish to discuss. The statements, presentations or suggestions should be 20 minutes or less.

On Monday, Oct. 12, the commissioners will meet informally and tour transportation projects in eastern Iowa. No action will be taken on transportation-related matters during the tour.
