Lane restrictions on Iowa 13 in Clayton County start tomorrow

NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – Oct. 27, 2009 – Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 28, repair work will begin on Iowa 13 from Strawberry Point north to Elkader, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) New Hampton construction office. Work associated with this project will include full-depth concrete patching in several locations.

 

When the contractor is working on the project, traffic will be restricted to one lane and maintained with flaggers and pilot cars. This project is expected to take two weeks to complete.

 

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
