U.S. 52 restricted to one lane in Jackson County beginning Monday
DAVENPORT, Iowa – Nov. 12, 2009 – The replacement of a bridge on U.S. 52 over the Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern Railroad and Mill Creek in Jackson County will cause lane restrictions beginning Monday, Nov. 16, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Davenport construction office.
Only one lane of traffic will be open. Travelers will be assisted through the work area by temporary traffic signals. The lane restriction is expected to be in place into early December.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
