295th Street opened yesterday in Lee County
MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa – Dec. 15, 2009 – With construction season coming to a close for this year, the contractor has opened access to 295th Street at U.S. 61, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Mount Pleasant construction office.
The roadway will remain open during the winter months, but will reclose at some point during the next construction season.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
