Oversize load movements restricted in parts of Iowa

AMES, Iowa – Feb. 8, 2010 – The Iowa Department of Transportation is reminding commercial motor carriers that movement of permitted oversize loads is only allowed when the roadways are clear of ice and snow, and visibility is at least 1/4 mile.

 

Presently, many roadways in the state are partially or completely covered with a mix of snow and ice. Several rounds of snow are forecast for today and Tuesday. A winter storm warning is currently in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday for much of central and eastern Iowa.
