Intermittent lane closures U.S. 20 near Sioux City for bridge construction work scheduled for March 10

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – March 9, 2010 – Bridge beam placement will cause intermittent lane closures on U.S. 20 at Big Whiskey Creek 4 miles west of Lawton. The intermittent closures are scheduled from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Sioux City construction office. Traffic will be stopped for no more than 10 minutes at a time.

 

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
