Two Iowa highways remain closed due to flooding
AMES, Iowa – March 18, 2010 – 1 p.m. – Two Iowa highways remain closed due to flooding, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT).
· U.S. 59 is closed on the south side of Cherokee due to flooding from the Little Sioux River. Traffic is being rerouted using Iowa 3, Cherokee County Road C-43 and Linden Street.
· U.S. 169 is currently closed between U.S. 6 and Iowa 44 in the Adel area. Traffic is being rerouted using Dallas County roads F-60, P-58 and Iowa 44.
Potential closure:
· U.S. 30 west of Boone is expected to be closed at some point late this week or early next week due to flooding on the Des Moines River.
