U.S. 18 detour in Clay County scheduled for March 15

CHEROKEE, Iowa – March 9, 2010 – Bridge construction on U.S. 18 will detour traffic on to Clay County roads M-50, B-24 and M-54 starting March 15, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Cherokee construction office.

 

The project is scheduled for completion during the first part of December 2010.

 

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
