Lane restrictions on I-80 exit ramp near Altoona begin tomorrow morning

DES MOINES, Iowa – Sept. 1, 2010 – Grading and paving for a turning lane and traffic signal installation on the eastbound Interstate 80 to Hubbell Avenue/northbound U.S. 65/southbound U.S. 6 exit ramp will cause traffic to be restricted to one lane beginning at 7 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, until Friday, Sept. 24, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Des Moines (DOT) construction office.

 

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
