Southbound ramps on I-29 at exit 151 in Sioux City to close Sept. 7
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Sept. 2, 2010 – The southbound entrance and exit ramps on Interstate 29 at exit 151 (Iowa 12 and Riverside Boulevard) in Sioux City will close beginning Tuesday, Sept. 7, until Friday, Nov. 19, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Sioux City construction office.
The closure will allow the ramps to be reconstructed as a part of the I-29 project adjacent to South Dakota. Southbound I-29 traffic must detour at exit 2 in South Dakota and travel east on River Drive in order to have access to Iowa 12. Southbound Iowa 12 traffic must detour on River Drive and travel west to the interchange at exit 2 in South Dakota in order to have access to southbound I-29. See map for details.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
