Temporary closures on southbound I-380 exit ramps in Cedar Rapids tonight

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – September 1, 2010 – Traffic sign removal and installation will require the closure of the southbound Interstate 380 exit ramp to eastbound U.S. 30 Wednesday, Sept. 1, between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. The southbound I-380 exit ramp to westbound U.S. 30 will be closed tonight from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m., weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Cedar Rapids construction office. Motorists should follow the marked detours.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations can more than double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
