MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – Nov. 29, 2010 – Motorists will be able to travel on the new westbound lanes of U.S. 30 between Colo and State Center beginning Monday, Nov. 29, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Marshalltown construction office.
Eastbound U.S. 30 traffic will be restricted to one lane until paint lines can be changed for the two-lane configuration. Repainting is expected to take two days, weather permitting.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
