MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – July 6, 2011 – The westbound lanes U.S. 30 between State Center and Iowa 330 will be open to traffic beginning Thursday, July 7, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Marshalltown construction office.
Traffic will be restricted to one lane in both directions of U.S. 30 to allow for completion of left-hand turn lanes and the removal of median crossovers.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
