Iowa Transportation Commission approves grant for city of Spirit Lake

AMES, Iowa – Nov. 13, 2012 – Today, the Iowa Transportation Commission approved a Revitalize Iowa's Sound Economy (RISE) Local Development grant application submitted by the city of Spirit Lake. Up to $150,519 will be made available to assist in construction of approximately 740 feet of new roadway located on the northeast side of town. This project is anticipated to be completed by September 2013. 

This project is necessary to provide access to four lots totaling more than 20 acres for light industrial and manufacturing purposes.  

Funding for the grant comes from the city share of the RISE Fund.
