Road Conditions Deteriorate Quickly with Heavy Snow and High Winds #iatraffic

AMES, Iowa – Feb. 21, 2013: 11 a.m. update – Iowa travel conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly late this morning in southern Iowa, this afternoon in the central part of the state and this evening in northeast Iowa. Significant snowfall and high winds will cause visibility to diminish very quickly, with periods of whiteout conditions.  

The Iowa Department of Transportation’s road weather information system, WeatherView, is available to the public at; it offers valuable travel information like pavement temperatures, precipitation and wind speeds, as well as camera views.
