DAVENPORT, Iowa – March 22, 2013 – Asphalt resurfacing projects on U.S. 6 and Iowa 1 will restrict traffic to one lane from 7 p.m. until 6:30 a.m. weekdays and Sundays beginning Monday, April 1, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Davenport construction office. Restrictions will not be allowed on Friday and Saturday nights.
Construction will take place at the following locations.
- U.S. 6 between Iowa 1 and Johnson County Road X-14 in Iowa City
- Iowa 1 between Johnson County Road W-62 and U.S. 6 in Iowa City
When work is being performed, flaggers will be used to assist traffic through the construction zones. A 12-foot width lane restriction will be in place in the open lane. Normal driving conditions will resume when workers are not present. This project is expected to be completed by late September.
