DES MOINES, Iowa – April 25, 2013 – Crack sealing work will take place in both directions of Interstate 35 between First Street near Ankeny and the interchange with I-80/I-235 on Sunday, April 28, from 6:30 a.m. until 11 a.m., weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Ames and Des Moines North maintenance garages.

This project will require slow-moving maintenance activities. The Iowa DOT does not anticipate any delays for motorists.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
