SIOUX CITY, Iowa – April 16, 2013 – Replacement of the bridge over Six Mile Creek on Iowa 12 near Chatsworth will require closing the roadway to traffic beginning at 8 a.m. Thursday, April 18, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Sioux City construction office.
During this construction project, traffic will be detoured around the work zone using Iowa 10, Plymouth/Sioux County Road K-18 and Plymouth County Road C-12.
This project is expected to be completed by Nov. 15.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
