Lane Restrictions on Iowa 16 Between Eldon and Selma Begin April 8 #iatraffic

April 05, 2013

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa – April 5, 2013 – A hot-mix asphalt crack filling project on Iowa 16 will require lane restrictions from Monday, April 8, until Friday, April 12, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Mount Pleasant construction office. The project work will affect traffic on Iowa 16 between the intersection with U.S. 34 and southwest to the Selma area.

During this project, traffic will be operating in a single-lane pattern in alternating directions weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists will be directed through the work zone by flaggers and a pilot car. There is an 11-foot width lane restriction in the project area.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
