Lane Restrictions on Iowa 16 Until April 12 #iatraffic

April 02, 2013

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa – April 2, 2013 – A crack-filling project on Iowa 16 from the south junction of Iowa 1 (near Keosauqua) east to the north junction with Henry County Road W-46 (near Hillsboro) will require lane restrictions from Tuesday, April 2, until Friday, April 12, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Mount Pleasant construction office.

During this project, traffic will be operating in a single-lane pattern in alternating directions weekdays and possibly Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists will be directed through the work zone by flaggers and a pilot car.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
