Public Input Requested for Proposed Bridge Replacement on U.S. 169 in Dallas County

AMES, Iowa – April 2, 2013 – The Iowa Department of Transportation is requesting public input on the proposed replacement of the bridge on U.S. 169 over a tributary to Slough Creek, 2.9 miles south of Iowa 141 in Dallas County.

The proposed project provides for replacing the bridge with a reinforced box culvert, raising the vertical alignment to improve sight distance, reconstructing approximately 875 feet of pavement, and constructing a ditch on the southeast quadrant to provide drainage and snow drifting benefits. 

Through traffic on U.S. 169 would be detoured using Iowa 44, Dallas County Road P-58 and Iowa 141.
