Lane restrictions on I-80 between Des Moines and Altoona begin Sept. 6 #iatraffic

September 04, 2013

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – Sept. 4, 2013 – Bridge approach repair work on Interstate 80 between I-35/235 (exit 137) near Des Moines and U.S. 65 (exit 141) near Altoona will require restricting traffic to two lanes in both directions beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Marshalltown construction office.

This project is expected to be completed by early October.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
