Lane restrictions on U.S. 65 in Warren County begin Monday #iatraffic

September 13, 2013

CHARITON, Iowa – Sept. 13, 2013 – Installation of guardrail on a bridge on U.S. 65 at mile marker 48 in Warren County will require alternating lane closures beginning 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Chariton construction office.

During this project, traffic will be directed over the bridge using temporary traffic signals located at each end of the bridge. There is a 14-foot width lane restriction and 15-foot height restriction in the project area.

This project is expected to be completed by late September.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
