Southbound I-35 traffic to be detoured for nighttime road construction near Cumming, in Warren County, Oct. 15 #iatraffic

October 10, 2013

CHARITON, Iowa – Oct. 10, 2013 – Nighttime road construction work to patch concrete on the southbound lanes of Interstate 35 under the Warren County Road G-14 bridge at exit 65, near Cumming, will require closing the roadway from 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Chariton construction office.

Southbound I-35 traffic will be routed around the road closure using the southbound entrance and exit ramps at exit 65. Traffic on Warren County Road G-14 will be stopped as needed by flaggers to assist traffic through the area.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
