Iowa Transportation Commission approves grant for Sioux City

AMES, Iowa – Dec. 10, 2013 – Today, the Iowa Transportation Commission approved a Revitalize Iowa's Sound Economy (RISE) Immediate Opportunity grant application submitted by Sioux City. Up to $1,640,500 will be made available to assist in the reconstruction of approximately 3,000 feet of Zenith Drive located on the southwest side of town. This project is anticipated to be completed by November 2015.

This improvement is necessary to provide improved access to the Bomgaars ranch and farm supply distribution facility and will support the creation of 15 new jobs and the retention of 178 jobs along with $18,250,000 in associated capital investment.

Funding for the grant comes from the city share of the RISE Fund
