MANCHESTER, Iowa – May 30, 2014 – Construction of underground water and sewer lines as part of the Iowa 100 expansion project requires closing Ushers Ferry Road between Blairs Ferry Road and North River Boulevard Northeast in Cedar Rapids beginning Wednesday, June 4, until late August, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Manchester construction office
Traffic will be maintained from North River Boulevard Northeast to Ushers Ferry Road and south.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
