Notice of proposed improvements and detour at the intersection of U.S. 69 and Iowa 2 in Decatur County

AMES, Iowa – March 9, 2017 – The Iowa Department of Transportation is providing notice regarding proposed improvements at the intersection of U.S 69 and Iowa 2 in Decatur County.

The proposed project includes the reconstruction of the east intersection of U.S. 69 and Iowa 2 with new pavement. Iowa 2 will be reconstructed from approximately School Street to Main Street and U.S. 69 will be reconstructed from Iowa 2 to just south of North Second Street. The project will also include sidewalk and driveway replacements.

Iowa 2 traffic will be maintained during construction. U.S. 69 will be closed and traffic will be detoured during construction using Iowa 2 to Interstate 35, north to Decatur County Road J-20, and east to U.S. 69.
