Posted on: July 07, 2017

NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – July 7, 2017 – A bridge deck overlay project on the Iowa 9 bridge over Trout Run in Decorah will require lane shifts beginning Monday, July 10, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s New Hampton construction office.

During construction, the two westbound lanes will be completed first with traffic maintained on the eastbound lanes in a head-to-head traffic pattern in single lanes. Several businesses on both the north and south sides of Iowa 9 within the construction zone will have only right-turn in and right-turn out access.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
