Iowa 38 near Stanwood to close Aug. 9 for pavement replacement #iatraffic

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Aug. 4, 2017 – Stage 2 of a road construction project to replace the concrete pavement on Iowa 38 from the right of way north of the Union Pacific Railroad’s property to the north corporate limits of Stanwood will require closing the roadway to traffic beginning at 6 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, until late September 2017, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Davenport construction office

Motorists will be detoured around the work zone using U.S. 30, Iowa 1, U.S. 151, and Iowa 38. See map for additional information on this detour route.

Horsfield Construction Inc. of Epworth, Iowa, is the contractor this $2,129,170 project.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
