UPDATE - U.S. 30 near Boone expected to remain open

AMES, Iowa – July 5, 2018 – Lower than expected water levels are good news for central Iowa travelers. U.S. 30 near Boone was expected to be closed due to flood waters as early as yesterday, but new flood forecasts indicated the water will not overtop the roadway in the foreseeable future, according to the Iowa DOT’s District 1 Office.
