No meeting - The Iowa Department of Transportation is providing public notice and requesting public input on the proposed improvements and right-of-way needs to Interstate 35 from north of North River to south of Badger Creek in Warren County. The proposed improvements include reconstruction of southbound I-35 lanes and Fillmore Street bridge. This project is a continuation of the I-35 corridor project, with this section beginning in 2013. This project connects work already completed at North River and Badger Creek.
Detour I-35 traffic will be maintained on the existing southbound lanes while the proposed lanes are constructed. Crossovers are in place at both the north and south ends of the project to maintain traffic. Once the proposed lanes are constructed, traffic will be moved to the new southbound lanes, and the existing southbound lanes and crossovers will be removed.
Fillmore Street will be closed to traffic during construction. There will be limited, overnight closures of I-35 to remove the existing Fillmore Street bridge and set beams for the proposed bridge. During the limited overnight closure of I-35, motorists will be directed around the work zone onto one of the following signed detours. (See map for further details).
Deadline for receipt of comments is March 29, 2018; however, all correspondence received after this date will be included in the project files and reviewed as the project is developed. To submit a comment online about this project, go to: https://bit.ly/Iowadot104891902.
