Mike Tiedens Leaves Iowa DOT’s Office of Public Transit
Mike Tiedens, Transit Programs Administrator for the Office of Public Transit, has announced his resignation effective Aug. 1, 2013. Tiedens has accepted a position as the Procurement Manager at the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority. He has been with the Iowa DOT’s Office of Public Transit since January 2011, and has been responsible for the administration and oversight of state and federal regulations and policies for 18 of Iowa's 35 regional and urban transit systems.
Office of Public Transit Director Michelle McEnany says, “Mike has been a key employee in the Office of Public Transit. He has been instrumental in developing a statewide procurement for small bus vehicles and has always provided superior customer service to the public and Iowa’s transit systems. We will particularly miss his in-depth knowledge of state and federal transit regulations. The Office of Public Transit wishes him luck as he moves to his new position, and looks forward to working with him in the future!”
The Transit Programs Administrator vacancy will be posted on the Department of Administrative Services website soon. Good luck Mike!
