To highlight the many benefits public transportation provides to individuals and communities, the Iowa Department of Transportation invites you to grab your camera and capture the faces and places of public transportation.
Winning entries receive a certificate of recognition, an invitation to the Iowa Public Transit Training Meeting awards dinner, and acknowledgement through a statewide announcement on the Iowa DOT’s Office of Public Transit website and the Iowa Public Transit Facebook page. Photographs will be used to promote public transportation in Iowa, which provided over 27.4 million rides last year, and brings Iowans access to jobs, health care, education, businesses, recreation, and other services every day.
Contest rules and categories for the 2014 Iowa Public Transit Photography Contest are now available at www.iowadot.gov/transit/photocontest.html. Entries are due June 1, 2014, and the top photos will be announced and displayed at the Iowa Public Transit Conference June 18-21 in Davenport. Good luck!
Public transit service is available in all 99 counties. Visit iowadot.gov/transit for more information on Iowa’s public transit system, and stay connected with Iowa Public Transit on Facebook.
