Proposed replacement of bridges on I-80 near Adair to be discussed Jan. 31
AMES, Iowa – The proposed replacement of the east- and westbound bridges on I-80 over the Iowa Interstate Railroad's track one-half mile west of Adair County Road N-54 will be discussed at a public meeting in Adair Thursday, Jan. 31, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation (Iowa DOT).
The Iowa DOT will hold the meeting in the Adair City Hall , 320 Audubon St. The public is invited to attend anytime between 4:30 and 6 p.m.
No formal presentation will be made at this meeting; however, details of the proposed bridge replacements will be discussed. Iowa DOT staff members will be available to present related information and discuss the proposal informally with interested citizens.
The bridges would be replaced in consecutive construction seasons. Through traffic would be maintained on I-80 during construction via the use of head-to-head traffic in the opposite set of lanes. The Adair County Road N-54 interchange on I-80 would remain open at all times and the Adair County Road G-30 interchange on I-80 would be closed.
