I-35/U.S. 34 interchange project update

FAIRFIELD, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Transportation (Iowa DOT) thanks everyone who attended the public information meeting held at the American State Bank in Osceola on Feb. 12. The public input was very helpful in the planning process.
The Iowa DOT has removed the I-35/U.S. 34 interchange project at Osceola from the Feb. 19, 2008, letting.
The Iowa DOT will pursue alternate construction methods in an effort to keep portions of the interchange open to traffic during the majority of the reconstruction period. While it may not be possible to have ramps open the entire time, efforts will be made to minimize the length of time ramps must be closed.
The Iowa DOT will provide further project information as it becomes available.
