Lazarowicz assumes new duties in Sioux City


SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Transportation (Iowa DOT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tony G. Lazarowicz, P.E., to the position of district engineer in the District 3 office in Sioux City. District 3 encompasses 19 counties in northwest Iowa. Lazarowicz replaces Richard Michaelis who retired Feb. 21 after more than 22 years of service with the Iowa DOT, the past eight as District 3 engineer.

Lazarowicz, a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, has been the assistant district engineer at the District 3 office for the past seven years. Prior to that, Lazarowicz held the positions of district construction engineer, district local systems engineer, and resident construction engineer, all in Sioux City. He began his career with the department in 1984 at the Waterloo construction office as a transportation engineer intern. Lazarowicz assumed his new duties Feb. 22, 2008.
