U.S. 34 closed between Ottumwa and Albia
AMES, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Transportation (Iowa DOT) has closed U.S. 34 between Ottumwa and Albia. Traffic is prohibited from Wal-Mart in Ottumwa to the junction of U.S. 34 and Iowa 5 in Albia. Many traffic crashes on this stretch of road have hindered the operation of snowplows. The closure is necessary to allow snowplows to bring the roadway to a passable condition.
