Iowa 140 culvert replacement to begin April 7

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The culvert replacement for the bridge on Iowa 140 at the tributary to Deer Creek 3.8 miles north of Kingsley is scheduled to start April 7, 2008, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation's Sioux City construction office. Truck roll-over incident closes westbound Iowa 141

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Transportation is reporting westbound Iowa 141 is closed at NW 121 st Street (Polk County Road F4R) north of Grimes due to a roll-over incident involving a cement truck. The Polk County Sheriff's office has established a detour. The route is expected to remain closed for at least two hours. #

I-74 lane restrictions begin Thursday in Moline

DAVENPORT, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Transportation's Davenport construction office is reporting lane closures on I- 74 between John Deere Road and Avenue of the Cities in Moline. One lane of Iowa-bound I-74 will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, March 27, Friday, March 28 and Monday, March 31 for a contractor to work on the new dynamic message sign. #

Traffic on U.S. 61/151 in Dubuque restricted beginning today

MANCHESTER, Iowa - Traffic on U.S. 61/151, under Grandview Avenue in Dubuque , is scheduled to be reduced to one lane in either direction beginning Monday, March 24, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation. The restriction is necessary for repairs to the Grandview Avenue Bridge. Cramer and Associates, of Des Moines, is the prime contractor for the $128,776 project, which is expected to be completed within four weeks. #

DOT releases 2008 Iowa Transportation Map

AMES, Iowa – The latest edition of one of Iowa's most popular publications, the Iowa Transportation Map, is now available at locations throughout the state and on any computer with Internet access.
