Posted on: April 30, 2008

MARSHALLTOWN , Iowa – The Iowa Department of Transportation's Marshalltown construction office has approved the closure of U.S. 65 west of Eldora between Iowa 175 and Hardin County Road D-41 beginning Monday, May 5.

The closure is necessary to complete a bridge reconstruction project at the site. The project was started in 2007 over the South Fork of the Iowa River and suspended in December 2007 to allow the road to be reopened for the winter.

Beginning Monday,  a detour using Iowa 175, Hardin County roads S-55 and D-41 will be provided.

Work is scheduled to be complete and the road reopened by the end of May, weather permitting.

When driving in a work zone, please obey all speed limits, allow ample space between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you and be aware of workers in the area.
